A conservative religious organization is trying to unseat judges in the upcoming California election. Here’s the main story: a group of conservative attorneys who say they are on a mission from God have launched an online campaign to replace the incumbent judges, all Democrats, with Christian conservatives.

Even though I was appalled to read about the story of 40 years old Eric Christensen now I’m happy to say that on Friday, June 4, 2010 he was found guilty of first degree murder of girlfriend’s slaying.

MRFF Challenges Army Hospital Emblem May 30, 2010

According to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation the cross and religious motto of an Army Hospital in Colorado violate the constitutional requirement for separation of church and state. They also state that the emblem should be removed. Here’s what the emblem says “Pro deo et humanitate” or “For God and humanity.”

British Police Recognizes The Pagan Police Association May 26, 2010

In the summer of 2009, a new group called the Pagan Police Association was created in the UK. The group is supporting the numerous officers who follow Pagan spiritual paths. Recently the association has been recognized by the Home Office as a “diversity staff support association”. This means that the police officers have been given the right to take days off to celebrate religious holidays.

Egyptian archeologists have recently discovered a one metre long gypsum sarcophagus of what appears to be a female Roman mummy. The experts are saying that the mummified body belonged to a young girl or a small woman who died in the Greco-Roman period about 2300 years ago.

I’m pretty sure you’ve all heard the story of Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church. It seems that Phelps and his group has no intention to stop what they are doing and continue traveling around the country and protesting against Judaism and homosexuality. These guys which have absolutely no connection to the real Baptist Church are notorious for having no shame whatsoever and showing up with hate-filled signs at schools, military funerals and even at a place in Charleston, West Virginia where 29 miners were recently killed in a tragic accident.

Sunday, the 28 of March, hundreds of Haiti’s Vodou practitioners held a public ceremony in a central Port-au-Prince square to honor the victims of the earthquake. This is known as the first national commemoration by Haiti’s Vodou religion to mourn the ones who lost their lives on January 12.

Student not allowed to build altar in shop class March 16, 2010

At first, to me it seemed that the teacher was only trying to be fair. The man stated that he previously told another student that he can’t build a cross in shop class and that he also doesn’t want any religious symbols in the shop. All this is very reasonable but as we advance with the reading we come across this statement he makes about Wicca: “It scares me. I’m a Christian… This witchcraft stuff – it’s terrible for our kids. It takes kids away from what they know, and leads them to a dark and violent life. We spend millions of tax dollars trying to save kids from that.”
