Stonehenge Twin Discovered August 10, 2010

This time the news comes from Stonehenge where archeologists and researchers have discovered a 4,000 year old wooden structure! The structure was located 900 meters northwest from the giant Stonehenge circle.
With the help of ground penetrating radar, archeologists have ungrounded – completely without digging- “what appears to have been a circle of massive timber obelisks”. This is very exciting news! It seems that the discovery mirrors another site located southeast of the monument and you know what that means! Stonehenge must have been an entire complex of three rings: the stone circle in the center and the two wooden structures sideways.
According to Professor Vince Gaffney of Birmingham University’s Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity, “Some 90 per cent of the Stonehenge landscape is still terra incognita. Our survey will hopefully begin to remedy our current lack of knowledge… The discovery will significantly change the way we think about the landscape around Stonehenge.” He added that “Stonehenge is one of the most studied monuments on Earth but this demonstrates that there is still much more to be found.”
This is truly a remarkable discovery, don’t you think so? I wonder if there’s more to come.
