Lammas or Lughnasadh is, for many Pagans and Wicca followers, the time to celebrate the begging of the harvest. This is the Sabbat about the cycle of birth, life death and rebirth. Here are some useful tips to help you set up your Lammas Altar:

  1. Location: you can either choose to set up your altar on a bookshelf or table, depending on what are your preferences.
  2. Colors: you should use a combination of end of summer and fall colors such as yellow, orange, red, brown, green, burgundies or any other autumn shades.
  3. Symbols: you have to include symbols of the harvest and fields in your altar and the most appropriate are sickles, baskets, grain, fresh picked fruits and vegetables, honey and bread.
  4. Honor the Gods. One of the most celebrated gods is Lugh. In order to honor the god Lugh, place symbols of your craft like notebooks, paintings, pens and other creations or tools for creativity on your altar.
  5. Other symbols you can incorporate when setting up your Lammas altar are grapes and wine, corn, tools, cornflowers, poppies, straw braids and onion garlands. Anything related to autumn is suitable.
