What Goes Around, Comes Around June 24, 2010

The famous saying ”What goes around comes around’’ originated in the United States in the 1970s. The earliest appearance in print was in 1974 in Eddie Stone’s book, ’’Donald Writes No More’’. Its Russian equivalent is ’’As the call, so is the echo’’. All religions and cultures in some form hold this idea to be true. For example in Mesopotamia Hamurabi an ancient ruler created the first code of laws. It contained this little nugget which you will recognize – “An eye for an eye…”
Do you believe in karma or what goes around comes around? Because I do and what constantly amazes me is how so many people still do not realize this simple rule. It sums up all relationship rules and compresses them into one easy-to-remember quote that everyone should memorize and practice as much as possible – at least those who wish to win over souls and live at peace with everyone: What goes around comes around!
We should do well to others. For example, give to others without sparing; give things back to people you’ve borrowed from — on time and perhaps with a special “thank you”; resist laziness and greed by being diligent and prudent in your relationships.
Unfortunately, people are used to taking more than they need, to lie even tough lies always have a negative relationship effect, damaging at least one person. Don’t expect others to treat you better than you treat them! This is illogical thinking.
