5 Sacred Sites in the US to Visit April 16, 2010
Posted by The Wayward Wiccan in : Random Ramblings , trackbackDon’t you just love Spring? The nature comes to life: flowers are blooming, trees are green, sun is shining and happiness is in the air – at least that’s how I feel about this season. Spring is probably my favorite time of the year, other than the Winter Solstice of course, because it just makes me feel more alive than ever.
I keep thinking on taking a trip with friends and family to a really nice, magical place. I feel like nature is calling me, but I just don’t see myself being able to break away to travel abroad. So I did a bit of research and came up with a list of 5 beautiful places in the U.S I would love to visit:
1. America’s Stonehenge, Salem, NH
This probably doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone but I have been fascinated with Stonehenge since I can remember so I really think this place is filled with energy and magic. Located in New Hampshire this site has been puzzling people for a very long time. Are these mystery rocks remains of a prehistoric secret society or just the work of eighteenth century farmers? Nobody knows for sure…
2. Land’s End Labyrinth, San Francisco, CA
Made of simple piles of stones, the labyrinth is an amazing place created exactly 6 years ago. Once I saw pictures of this place I knew I had to get there someday. Still planning though…
3. Energy Vortexes, Sedona, AZ
Not only is this a beautiful place, but Sedona has long been known as a spiritual center. People all over the world are coming to experience standing at one of the vortexes and letting the energy just flow through them.
4. Aztalan State Park, Lake Mills, WI
Showcasing an ancient Middle-Mississippian village that thrived between A.D. 1000 and 1300 this place is considered Wisconsin’s most important archaeological site and one of its most popular tourist locations.
5. Denali (Mount McKinley), Alaska
This is definitely one of the most interesting places to visit especially if you are attracted to strange and unusual things. There is a legend saying that a sun shaman named Sa lives on the mountain alongside many spirits. Sa is said to be the master of life and there are several visitors claiming that they have witnessed paranormal activities.
It seems I have very ambitious plans, but hey, a girl can dream! I’m trying to be realistic about it and I know I’m not going to visit all of these sites this year but what I’m really hoping is that I get to see at least one of these amazing mysterious places. What are you favorite mystical destinations? Make me jealous and tell me about your latest trips, or tell me which place I should hit up first.
